When our babies are being fed formula, we use Kaytee Exact Handfeeding Formula...the one for all birds and not the macaw
one. We have raised many, many babies and have never had any problems with it. Our babies are given a variey of foods
to wean onto, such as fresh veggies including corn, peas, carrots and sweet potatoes along with some mustard greens and turnip
greens. The chopped fresh fruits are usually apples, oranges, grapes and cantaloupe, along with some 12 grain breads and hard
boiled eggs. A favorite of most all young birds
are millet spray given daily...we also start out with parakeet and cockatiel size Zupreem pellets, along with a good
vitamin enriched seed mix.
