Hello Della,
Hope you and your family are doing great.  Its been a little over a week since I purchased my Mitred Conure, whose name is Apple Jack.  He is the best birthday present I  ever received.  I’m very thankful for my family for helping me get him.  He is a blessing not only for me, but for them.  He is doing absolutely wonderful and has won my heart.  He loves being around people.  My 11 year old niece that you met adores him also. They do great together.
He loves taking baths in the kitchen sink!! I’m trying to get use to making sure he’s put up before doing dishes or he runs to the dish water! He sits in the shower on his perch everyday while I shower…That is his favorite place to nap.  He doesn’t wake up until I’m dressed and ready to go.  He still says “Step up” when he wants to be held or wants higher up; so we hear this a lot.  He likes kisses. His favorite thing is setting on our heads and grooming us and himself. Our hair is always messed up!  Everyday Apple Jack and I have been practicing turning over.  I’ll say Turn and flip and then put him on his back and give him a treat and pet him.  He’s staying on his back longer the more times we do it. Every other day we put the flight suit on.  He’s getting better at it.  He is still a little nippy during the process, but I take my time and talk calm to him.
The thing I was worried most about before Apple Jack came was him being noisy all night or early the next morning.  I took your advice about rotating cages, so that hasn’t been a problem.  Every night, the last thing we do before we go to sleep is walk him over to his ‘night cage’. He gets in it and goes straight up to the birdie hut you gave me.  I cover him up, he mumbles for a little while and goes to sleep.  I don’t hear anything from him until I uncover him the next day and take him back to the ‘play cage’.
Everyone that meets Apple Jack can tell he has been handled a lot by people.  He’s very loving and affectionate.  I would recommend anyone to you and will do business with you again if Apple Jack needs company in his cage later on.  Thanks so much!

Blessings,

Brittany Hieneman
