Our Location
We are located in the heart of the Appalachain Mountains
here in Harlan County, KY. We breed a variety of exotic birds including several mutation Green Cheeks such as Pineapple,
Yellow Sided, Cinnamon and Normals.
Other Conures we breed are: Sun Conures, Blue Crown
Conures know as "The Paulie Bird", Mitred Conures.
We also breed : Black Headed Caiques aka (Clowns of the bird world).
and Timneh African Grey.
We pull our babies from the nest between two and three
weeks of age to start hand-feeding them and we close band them. Each baby is weaned on an individual schedule, and never
forced to wean. When a bird is a baby, they are completely dependant on us for food. If we suddenly decide that "They are
weaned" and stop feeding them, we break our trust. We feed the babies until they "refuse to eat any
more of that baby food!"
We do not sell unweaned babies and we do not buy unweaned
babies. All our babies come from our breeder birds here in our aviary. You may wonder why we will not sell unweaned babies
and here is why. The main reason that someone wants to buy an unweaned baby is because of the untrue myth that "My bird
will love me more if I handfeed it." Think of the birds in the wild. The babies don't bond to their parents who feed them,
they bond to their mates after they are weaned! I hope that all makes sense!
Our Family
Our whole family contributes in the
raising and socializing of our babies. Because we are a small aviary, it allows the time needed in spending time with each
indiviual baby on daily basis. We are more than proud of our two children, Gary Jr. and Shana for that they are as much
involved in the cleaning & socializing and the love and care it takes to keep and maintain our aviary of happy,healthy
spoiled baby parrots...I'm very thankful for husband Gary who makes the essential needs
our breeder birds require.Such as building cages,repairing perches &making nest boxes.. We thank God for
our Family, Friends and our Flock !!
